Originally founded as Gamma Gamma Gamma in the early 1920s, the fraternity was chartered as
Gamma Mu Chapter of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity on December 7th, 1929. For many years,
Gamma Mu was the only Pi Kappa Alpha chapter in New England until it was joined by Trinity
College (1953), Massachusetts Institute of Technology (1970), and the University of
Massachusetts (1977). Currently, New England is home to seven active PIKE chapters and is
part of Pi Kappa Alpha's New England Region
Today, "PIKE" as it is known at UNH, is made up of over 60 brothers representing a large,
broad cross section of student population. Brothers are active members of the UNH community
and participate in groups such as Student Senate, Crew, and Freshman Camp to name a few.
PIKE prides itself on the diverse interests and talents of brothers as well as the closeness
of the brotherhood.
Supporting the undergraduate Chapter is the Gamma Mu Alumni Association (GMAA), made up of
over 1,200 living alumni initiated as Pi Kappa Alpha brothers by Gamma Mu Chapter. GMAA
volunteers work with undergraduates to help them develop leadership skills, mentor Chapter
officers, and create programs to help brothers prepare for life after graduation.
The UNHPikes.org web site is designed to serve the needs of undergraduates, alumni, friends
and parents who make up the UNH Pi Kappa Alpha community. This Web site was first published
on March 1, 2003 and is continually evolving to meet the needs of the Gamma Mu community.
